Famous VCU Alumni
Included in this exhibition is a small selection of alumni. They range from artists to politicians, nurses to athletes. Some have familiar faces, others are lesser-known. 1. A former director of surgical pathology at the Mayo Clinic, this MCV alumnus gained international renown for his numerical grading scale for cancer.

18. She became the first Virginia Director of Public Health Nursing and played an integral role in creating the Richmond School of Social Work.

19. Her long career in health administration included serving as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from 2011 to 2015.

20. Only 15 when she started at VCU, she was the nations's youngest college basketball player and a WNBA first round draft pick in 2009.

21. This alumnus has served as writer and artist on the comics Cable & Deadpool and Deadpool: Dracula's Gauntlet.

22. Her novel The Rapture of Canaan, was a New York Times bestseller and an Oprah Book Club selection in 1997.
