The League of German Girls or Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM) was the girls' branch of the Hitler Youth movement. Like the Deutsches Jungvolk and HJ training, BDM activities included physical training and ideological instruction, but also included domestic training in preparation for marriage and motherhood. The young girls singing in this photograph are identified as coming from Northern France.
