Description: Composer Deems Taylor created a musical version of James Branch Cabell's Jurgen, in the form of a one-movement symphonic poem which premiered November 19, 1925. In 1929, modern dance pioneer Ted Shawn, Ruth St. Denis, and their dance troop Denishawn presented a dance version for which Taylor provided a two-piano arrangement.
