Title: Edith Cavell 1865-1915 Heroine of the Great War

Description: (On Front) Nurse Edith Cavell was the daughter of the Vicar of Swardeston, subsequently a resident of Norwich. During the Great War she nursed in the War Hospitals at Brussels, & effected the escape of many British prisioners, for which she was arrested on August 5th & shot on October 12th 1915. The Cavell Nurses Home was opened in her memory, & a Memorial Statue stands opposite it on Tambland. After the War her body was brought to Norwich & interred under the shadow of the cathedral walls.
