Title: Ovarian Tumor
Description: Intermediate magnification image of a serous borderline ovarian tumor with micropapillary features. The cells surrounding the central core form thin, filiform micropapillae, arrangement also known as the "medusa head".
This is a hematoxylin eosin stained section of an ovarian tumor. The magification is 200x.
Presence of micropapillary features in an ovarian serous borderline tumor indicates a more aggressive behavior. Pathologists need to document the presence of this feature in such cases.
